A native of Mexico, Dr. Finkelman received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Yavne School in Mexico City. He received his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico City School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. He then completed an internship at the General Hospital in Mexico City where he was also granted honors. After moving to the United States, Dr. Finkelman completed his residency at Sinai Hospital-John Hopkins Hospital and Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital and Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana. For more than 35 years, Dr. Finkelman has been in private practice serving the communities of Austell and Hiram. During that time, he also completed a master’s degree in business administration from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Finkelman is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Gastroenterology, and the Mexican Board of Gastroenterology. He is a member of the Georgia Gastroenterology Society, and he has also co-authored several publications covering topics such as Hepatitis C treatments and diverticulosis. In addition to treating all types of gastrointestinal disorders, Dr. Finkelman is particularly interested in gastroesophageal reflux and colon cancer
