Jerome R Obed, DO

Jerome R. Obed, DO, FAOCD, FAAD, is a native Floridian who has been living in South Florida for the past 20 years. After graduating from the University of Florida with Honors in both Zoology and Human Nutrition, he attended medical school at A.T. Still University in Kirksville Missouri. Upon graduation, Dr. Obed returned to Florida where he completed his first residency at Broward Health Medical Center, becoming board certified in Family Medicine. After working in Urgent & Critical Care settings for three years, Dr. Obed completed a second residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Dermatology. He has been practicing as a board certified Dermatologist for over 10 years at his private practice in Fort Lauderdale. In his position as an Associate Professor, Dr. Obed plays an integral role in the education of medical students and residents. He lectures yearly to the first and second year medical students at Nova Southeastern University and regularly hosts international medical students and residents at his office. He is also involved in pharmaceutical research in the field of dermatology, having served as the principal investigator on numerous medical trials. In his free time, Dr. Obed enjoys working as a Ringside Physician, where he cares for elite athletes both inside and outside of the ring. Since 2006 he has made numerous appearances on ESPN and other television networks for both professional boxing and mixed martial arts events. Personally, Dr. Obed enjoys swimming and running, having completed the Chicago marathon, multiple halves, and regular sprint triathlons. He is also passionate about boating and plans on obtaining his captain’s license in the future.
