Virtual tour of the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation, Rochester, Minn. The Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation (CFI) uses a patient-centered focus to transform the way health care is experienced and delivered. CFI is a multidisciplinary center that includes practicing physicians and scientists, along with researchers, designers, service designers, along with IT and project management expertise. Central to the methodology used by CFI is design thinking — introduced to the clinical practice at Mayo Clinic by the first known team of designers embedded in a medical practice. The CFI follows a long tradition of Mayo Clinic innovations, dating back to the Mayo brothers and focused on patient needs.
