Alana J. Degree, M.D., is board-certified through the American Board of Family Medicine. She holds certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support, ACLS, and basic life support, BLS. At Conviva Care Center Plantation, she leads a team of compassionate, patient-focused primary care professionals with a commitment to medical excellence. Dr. Degree completed the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Miami, Florida, in 2022. She earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine (HUCM) in Washington, DC. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Cellular Biology from Florida A & M University (FAMU) College of Arts and Sciences in Tallahassee, Florida, and an Associate of Arts from Miami Dade College, College of Arts and Sciences in Miami, Florida. Dr. Degree’s distinctions include the Gold Humanism Honor Society at Howard University College of Medicine, the Dean’s List, a full Presidential Scholarship, and a Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship at FAMU. Before joining Conviva in 2022, she practiced at the New Freedman’s Clinic, a free clinic funded by HUCM in Washington, DC, performing medical histories and physical examinations. Dr. Degree is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. She has volunteered with the Latino Medical Student Association, Christian Medical Dental Association, Camp Hope for Kids in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the Montgomery County Church of Christ in Rockville, Maryland.
