Brent Armstrong, MD, is a family medicine specialist with Appomattox River Primary Care in Colonial Heights, Virginia. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Armstrong earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his combined residency training in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. He also earned a Master of Science in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology from University of Toronto. Dr. Armstrong is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine and has more than 25 years of experience in practicing pediatrics and internal medicine. In addition to his practice, Dr. Armstrong is actively involved with Chosen Children Ministries doing medical mission work. He has made over a dozen trips to Nicaragua to minister to and provide medical assistance to the people there. Dr. Armstrong is an active member of The Heights Baptist Church and is also a member of The Gideons International. Dr. Armstrong enjoys spending time with his wife and family and loves to travel. He is an avid reader and an outdoor enthusiast who loves to hike, run, kayak, and bike.
